ZITS

The Ztumsi Independent Tribal Spiritualists

(Religious Movement)

ZITS' forces contain several units of troops who were once followers of both sides in the Ztumsian War of Independence. The regular element of the army of religious zealots includes many armoured cars and technicals, light vehicles armed with an assortment of heavy weapons . The regulars are backed by numerous militia who flock to the panther standard wherever it is flown. Most of these militia spend their live high on JuJuJuice and have little regard for their own lives - Agassou looks after his own.

The character of the whole ZITS army has changed in recent years. This started when they joined in an alliance with Petramco and the YIDZ and entered the international drugs business in a big way. Since then they have grown rich on the pickings of the JuJuJuice trade and have been purchasing large amounts of equipment from all over the world. Many of the old-time ZITS commanders look back on the good old days and have strong suspicions that many of the so called "New Guard" are not true believers. It is even whispered that Heviosso himself has given in to the temptations of wealth and ceased to honour Agassou in his heart. Rumours persist that he has been seen visiting Sun City in South Africa - though his leutenants put this down to enemy propaganda.

Whatever the truth of these matters it is easy to see that the ZITS army has changed in character - they now employ some white mercenaries, uniforms have become commonplace, even for militia units, and Heviosso has bought hundreds APCs and armoured cars with the drugs trade money . Western military analysts point to the huge variety of vehicle types serving in the army and wonder how they manage the logistics of it all. The truth is that they usually don't and many vehicles are out of action due to mechanical failure at any one time..
